Making excuses is human nature. Man is a high-minded creature who constantly worries about what other people will think of him and strives to fit in. They don't really feel good about themselves at all. Anyone who makes an excuse does so because they feel vulnerable when others call into question their abilities and when their errors, carelessness, and unpredictable behavior are exposed. Excuses are a defensive tactic used to mask their flaws and contradictions. Excuses may be interpreted as pleading for pardon and minimizing personal accountability. In order to maintain our motivation to complete the task, excuses help us to: Protect our self-worth and confidence. Also, keep things peaceful in our relationships.
